Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a stronger massage than Swedish massage. It penetrates the muscles reaching deeper into the muscle than a normal massage. It is especially good for tension in the back, neck and shoulders.
Deep tissue massage is slower slower and stronger than typical massage. Often your therapist will use their elwows and thumbs to concentrate on certain areas of your body to releive tension.
People with sports injuries will likely benefit from a deep tissue massage. In fact, many refer to it as "sports massage."
Lotion and oil is necessary to lubricate the skin during the massage.
